Michael Buble and the grocery store

I love Michael Buble's new song "Haven't Met You Yet" and I love the music video even more. Who doesn't love a good dance party in the grocery store?? I especially love the old couple that dances. See below:

The warm spring weather has briefly left...leaving rain and cold..ick!! So I'm spending my day inside reading! And listening to music of course.

No Good Very Blah Day

Do you ever have those days when you just think, "Blah...not having a good day but I'm not really sure why?!" Well, I just kinda had one of those days. Nothing went wrong...I just wasn't feeling it today. All I wanted to do was go home and curl up with my husband and giggle and just play all day. Joshua is my best friend and one of the best things about being married to him is that I can give him a call or come home and just be honest about how I was feeling. here is there to work through my emotions with me and really dig into what maybe caused me to feel that way. What a gift marriage is..to be able to connect with someone and continually grow and support one another.

So even though I had a somewhat "blah" day...it turned out to be a blessing because I got the opportunity to grow and communicate with my husband.

Weekend Bliss

One of my favorite things about the weekend is breakfast! I know...my life seems to evolve around delicious food...but breakfast on the weekend is one of my favorite activities with Joshua. During the week it's a rush to get out the door on time..so we'll make eggs really quick and eat them standing in the kitchen...or make a quick bowl of cereal....or sometimes I even put some oatmeal in some plastic-ware to make at work. Needless to say, weekend breakfast is much slower paced and usually consists of muffins, pancakes, waffles, or eggs with some sides. My mom has THE BEST blueberry muffin recipe that is healthy and wonderfully delicious. I know I've posted about them before...but I've finally decided to share the recipe. I'm going to call them Robin's Blueberry Muffins on behalf of my very talented mother!

Robin's Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients:
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. OJ or water (I prefer OJ)
1 1/2 c. all purpose flower
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 c. oil
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tbsp cinnamon (reserve for topping)

Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line or grease muffin cups. In large bowl, combine rolled oats and OJ-stir well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup- level off. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, oil, and egg-mix well. Stir in blueberries. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. mix remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over batter.

Bake at 400 degrees for 18-22 minutes.

Eat and enjoy! Have a good weekend!

Baggu!

So I found these awesome reusable bags on a design site that I frequent (can't remember which one at the moment). I saw them just before Christmas and fell in love! I bought a couple to put in the Walton Family Christmas Dirty Santa exchange. Unfortunately, I don't think very many people appreciated them...other than myself and my mom and my mom ended up stealing them for herself!
Small Produce Bag

Regular size baggu

The GREAT thing about these bags is that the fold down into TINY squares for easy storage in your purse..or even your back pocket. I haven't been able to purchase any for myself yet. They are definitely on my wish list! You can go to the Baggu website and purchase the bags in an array of colors and sizes. They also have good deals on bulk orders and shipping is only $4!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Joshua and I have been busy bees this week. It seems like we've only had time to see each other for maybe 20-30 minutes before heading to bed every night. Joshua has class late Monday-Wednesday, so I've found activities to occupy my time. I have Bible study on Monday...which is part of our normal schedule. Tuesday night was consumed with a phone party for our Partner's Campaign at work. Since we are a non-profit...and part of our mission is to provide "membership for all," we have an annual campaign to raise money to provide scholarships to families in the community that cannot afford the full cost of membership or programs at the YMCA. While Joshua was contemplating his future in law last fall (and had briefly decided to part ways with law) I had recruited him to help raise money during our annual campaign. Well, he decided to stay in school and has class until 9:30ish Monday-Wednesday, so I've been put in charge of raising his portion, on top of my own. So this year, I was responsible for raising $1200! So Wednesday night was also consumed with a calling party, and then the weekly watching of the Bachelor at Ashley's.

Thursday was much better, as Joshua only has one class in the morning and I get off work between 5 and 6. Since we seem to never have time together during the week I do what I can to at least be in the same space as him..even if he is doing school work. So Thursday night I went to the library to hang out while he worked on a paper that he is working on with one of his professors. We then grabbed a quick dinner and then went to the 2010 Dedman School of Law Follies. It was so good to see some of his law school cohorts that I haven't seen in a while..plus we got in a good laugh. The follies were shown at the Magnolia theatre, which is this cool movie theatre in West Village. The preview of the show is below. The film was great and there was a great deal of time dedicated to it. Hopefully the whole film will be up soon!

This weekend Joshua and I are looking forward to relaxing, maybe grilling out and on Saturday night we'll be going to a benefit dinner with Ashley and Jayson! I'll post about that later.
